The Moon in Love with the Dawn
[Verse 1]
The playful Crescent in the morn,
Through clouds upon the heavens high,
Beheld the Dawn, so newly born,
In dreams of freedom he would sigh.
He thought of her, his beauty bright,
And wished to leave the sky above,
To hold her close, to leave the night,
And tell her of his burning love.
[Verse 2]
Then as the hour of night descends,
To rise again, to be reborn,
His gentle soul to silence bends,
Lest he should make his lady mourn.
He loved her in the quiet deep,
And waited for the morning light,
To see the Dawn wake from her sleep,
While he is fading out of sight.
[Chorus]
Oh, Dawn, the beauty of the earth,
When morning sun begins to glow,
It gives the golden rays their birth,
And mountains feel the loving flow.
She looks around with eyes so sweet,
And melts away in crimson fire,
The crystal dew beneath her feet
Is all that's left of her desire.
[Verse 3]
Their fate is harsh: as she appears,
The Crescent fades in pale blue sky.
He weaves her constellations, tears,
And in her beams he's doomed to die.
A rosy blush is on her face,
She catches his last breath of air,
And in the clouds' eternal space,
They keep their meeting, brief and rare.
[Bridge]
The years go by, the ages fly,
With every cycle, young and new,
The crescent Moon within the sky
Is filled with Sun and loses hue.
Becoming Moon, so cold and white,
He dreams of being young and free,
To meet the Dawn, his morning light,
And find his destiny.
[Outro]
To meet the Dawn again...
Through all the years and pain...
The Crescent and the Dawn...
